This information is for groups linked to the South Derbyshire Environmental Forum and for local businesses wishing to volunteer their time for a day on a community environmental project.
The Environmental Volunteering Project is managed by our Environmental Education Project team and linked to the Environmental Forum and South Derbyshire Partnership groups.
It aims to provide a network between businesses and other groups wishing to volunteer on a community environmental project. This, in turn, will improve biodiversity and the visual attractiveness of South Derbyshire and support businesses in their Community Investment and ‘Business in the Community’ (BiTC) work.
Local groups with a project will be asked to fill in the task template (doc, 45kb) with basic information about what they want doing, when it needs doing and what resources they have or need. Notes (pdf, 70kb) are available to help you complete the template.
Businesses will be asked how many people they want to volunteer, for how long and when. They can choose their own project or can be matched up by us.
The match-making service is free. However, we will charge if we need to supply a project leader or to fill in project templates for either party. Costs are worked out on a project-by-project basis. As a guideline, a task leader would be £100 per volunteering session of up to a day and the hourly rate for completing project templates would be £30.
