Hello Heritage

Celebrate rich cultural heritage, visit a variety of heritage sites and immerse yourself in eye opening walks, talks, and sites across South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire. For the third year running, between Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 22, visitors from both districts will be able to explore and learn all about where they live.

What is Hello Heritage?

A successful Hello Heritage pilot was launched in 2017, since then it has grown to be bigger and better.
In 2018 over 1,200 people visited 35 venues, events, talks and walks across North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire - all for free.

Now it’s back again for 2019.

Hello Heritage is a fun free fortnight for all the family to enjoy. It is a celebration of the heritage and rich culture within and across both North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire.

Heritage sites and groups come together to provide a varied collection of opportunities for residents to visit, see, and experience. In 2019, the project received a nomination for Best Free Festival at the Leicestershire Tourism and Hospitality Awards in 2018. Last year saw more venues, one off events, walks, talks and the development of some innovative new partnerships, now including the participation of venues in South Derbyshire.

Find out more about all the exciting heritage events that took place in 2018 by visiting our partner’s Hello Heritage page here.

You can download the programme here (pdf, 1.9mb).
