South Derbyshire is a thriving and successful place at the heart of the National Forest, with a healthy visitor economy alongside an expanding business sector. With high-value jobs and outstanding transport links, you can understand why we’re one of the fastest growing Districts in the country and this is reflected in our vision to be ‘a great place to live, visit and invest’. Being in the heart of the national forest we value all our trees and are looking to expand our tree team with this new role.

Working for the award winning Parks and Green Spaces Service based in Swadlincote, you will make a direct impact on quality of life in South Derbyshire as you will provide expert guidance on all arboriculture matters including Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and Conservation Area applications and supporting other members of the team managing trees and woodland on parks and public open spaces.

We are looking for someone who is determined to achieve the very best for the communities in which they work and who will step up to take the initiative and assuring our tree stock is managed to the highest standard.

It is a role that requires an arboricultural qualification and background in arboricultural planning, with partnership working skills, good communication, an ability to think, plan and deliver strategically, manage a demanding workload and display a commitment to high standards, change management and meeting deadlines.

The job is permanent and a full-time appointment. There may be funding to cover relocation expenses.
