Have your say on parish councils in South Derbyshire!

Planning image Planning image

A community governance review is being undertaken due to the Government’s local government reorganisation plans which will see district and county councils replaced with new unitary authorities.

Most areas of South Derbyshire already have parish councils, but some areas do not. If supported by local electors, the creation of parish councils would help to ensure local people, businesses and communities continue to have a say in how these areas are run.

The Council is also reviewing local governance in the area currently represented by Castle Gresley Parish Council.

Find out more information and complete the consultation form on the Council’s website here.

The deadline for receipt of consultation responses is Monday, 26 January 2026. Don’t miss your opportunity to provide your feedback!
