Six South Derbyshire Parks given coveted Green Flag Awards!
Six of our wonderful parks have been awarded Green Flags for 2025!
The hard work and dedication of our fantastic Parks and Green Spaces colleagues has meant that Eureka Park, Maurice Lea Memorial Park, Cadley Park, Swadlincote Woodlands, Newhall Park and Church Gresley Cemetery green space have all received a Green Flag this year.
Parks are a vitally important part of this country’s green infrastructure, providing opportunities to improve physical and mental health even in the most built-up urban environments. That’s why it’s important that parks are managed to the Green Flag Award standard, which accredits and recognises sites that meet the needs of the community, are well-maintained, safe and provide people with the opportunity to lead healthy lifestyles.
