The Digital Switchover is coming and you need to be ready!

Telecare is a personal alarm system that connects people to emergency help at the push of a button, helping them stay safe and independent at home.

You might have seen the advert on TV about how the way these alarms communicate is changing as part of the digital switchover.

If you haven't already, give your landline provider a call using the number on your bill to let them know you use a telecare alarm. It only takes a few minutes and it will make sure your alarm still works during the switchover.

Some telecare users have received scam calls about the digital switchover. If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be your landline provider and you are not 100% sure about the call, hang up and call the provider back using the number on your bill.

Before the switchover, you'll need to:

• Make a note of what connected devices use your landline

• Acquire a power back-up source (if you are a vulnerable customer, you can request this from your phone company)

• Inform the phone company about connected devices and additional communications needs

• If you are a vulnerable customer (such as a telecare user), let your phone company know

• Contact the device manufacturers for guidance.
