Have your say on the Issues and Options for the new Local Plan Part 2
As you may recall South Derbyshire District Council has commenced work on reviewing its adopted Local Plan. The Local Plan Part 1 Review contains strategic policies and allocations and will be submitted for Examination shortly.
The Council is now reviewing the adopted Local Plan Part 2, which sets out non-strategic policies and allocations against which future planning applications will be determined.
As part of the local plan process, public consultation plays a vital role. This Issues and Options consultation is the first opportunity for residents, businesses and stakeholders to help shape what the Local Plan Part 2 Review should include.
The Council is inviting views on a range of matters, including:
- Housing
- Green Belt
- Settlement boundaries
- Infrastructure
- Gypsy and Traveller provision
- Retail and economic development
All the responses will help inform more detailed proposals that will be shared for further public comment at a later stage.
The consultation runs from Monday 24 November until 5pm on Friday 30 January 2026.
