Remembrance events across South Derbyshire
South Derbyshire will come together on Remembrance Sunday, 9 November 2025, to honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. Ceremonies and parades will take place across the district, with a two minutes’ silence observed at 11am. All are welcome. Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Below is an overview of the day’s key events. We’ll link each heading to full details, routes and access information.
Swadlincote – Civic Service & Parade (Eureka Park)
Times: 10:30am–11:15am

Aston-on-Trent – RBL Civic Parade
Times: 9:45am–12:00pm

Route (outward): Derby Road → right into Weston Road → Memorial Hall, Chellaston Lane

Return: Memorial Hall → Weston Road → right into Shardlow Road → finish at All Saints Church
Melbourne – Remembrance Parade & Road Closures
Start time: from 10:20am

Rolling closures: Derby Road, Market Place, Potter Street

Full closures (during the parade): Church Street, Castle Square, Potter Street & Derby Road

Repton – RBL Remembrance Parade
Times: 10:20am–11:00am and 11:45am–12:20pm

Outward: High Street, from the Royal British Legion → traffic island (Willington Road) → St Wystan’s Church

Return: After the service, back along the same route to the Royal British Legion
Church Gresley – Wreath Laying & March to the Park
Times: 10:00am–11:30am

Gathering: On and around Market Street from 10:00am

11:00am: Wreath-laying ceremony

Afterwards: Uniformed groups form up on Market Street and march into the park, followed by family and friends, for a short service at the bandstand
