About the programme

Our School Enrichment Programme offer is part of our wider commitment to supporting schools and communities across South Derbyshire, with inclusive programmes that inspire active, healthy, and connected lives.

The programme takes place at Rosliston Forestry Centre (DE12 8JX). Spanning over 154 acres of woodland, meadows, and open space, the site offers endless opportunities for children and young people to connect with nature, be active, and explore beyond the classroom. Whether it’s team building challenges, environmental education, or simply enjoying fresh air and freedom, Rosliston provides a unique and enriching setting for all kinds of learning.

Our activities

Archery: An inclusive activity delivered in our purpose built archery range. Learn the basics of how to use a bow and arrow, testing patience and honing your hand-eye coordination through fun games and activities that allow all to succeed.

Team Building: Experience all the challenges and fun our team building kit has to offer. Brought to life by our deliverers with teams having to work together to crack the code, disarm the bomb, cross the fallen bridge, navigate through the electric fences and much more.

Shelter Building: Utilise natural resources to create a structure to shelter your team in the woods. Who’s brave enough to sit inside whilst we test it with a spontaneous downpour?

Inflatables: If it’s a treat or celebration you are looking for, look no further than our Bouncy Castle with slide, Inflatable Mountain Climb or Inflatable Pitch. Our Sports & Games activity option makes a great accompaniment to an inflatable!

Orienteering: Experience the forest from a different perspective. Our expertly designed course is ideal for all. With a short, medium or long route, you are sure to find a course to suit your group. Both the short and medium courses are on a surfaced trail, suitable for wheelchairs.

Combat Archery: A high adrenaline team game that sees a crossover between archery and dodgeball. Dodge, duck and dive behind the inflatable barrier to avoid the foam tipped arrows coming from the opposing team (ages 11+ only).

Laser Combat: Find out who’s the sharpest shooter, who’s a born leader and who the tactical thinkers are whilst working through a number of game play scenarios with our top of the range Laser Tag equipment. This activity can be delivered within a woodland setting or flat grass area depending on accessibility requirements.

Sports & Games: Why not schedule a session that lets them choose from a variety of exciting activities? They can challenge friends with our Giant Games like Jenga, Connect 4, or Chess. Suit up for some laughs in our Sumo Suits, or get active with a range of sporting options including rounders, cricket, dodgeball, crazy golf, boccia, and corn hole. It’s a great way to encourage choice, movement, and social interaction—all in one session.

Birds of Prey: Thanks to our fantastic partners at A.R.D. Birds of Prey, you’ll have the chance to witness majestic birds in flight, learn about the ancient art of falconry, and even feel the thrill as one of these incredible creatures lands gently on your gloved hand. It’s a truly unforgettable way to explore the natural world up close.

Environmental Activities: Or explore sessions with our partners at the Environmental Education Project, offering curriculum-linked activities like pond dipping, bushcraft, minibeasts and others such as life & career guidance through the Think Like A Tree and Forest Bathing sessions.
