FREE Webinar: Supplying the Council - Learn How Your Business Can Work With Us

South Derbyshire District Council is inviting local businesses to take part in a free online webinar on Thursday 25 September 2025, from 10am to 11am, to learn how they can supply goods and services to the Council.
Each year, the Council spends over £25 million delivering services to the community, purchasing everything from materials and equipment to construction projects, consultancy services, and outsourced provision. This creates significant opportunities for businesses of all sizes, from sole traders and small local companies to larger national organisations.
The session, presented by Harold Talbot-Tomlinson, Procurement Lead at South Derbyshire District Council, aims to demystify the procurement process and show businesses how they can successfully access Council contracts.
What the webinar will cover:
-
An overview of procurement routes and how they vary depending on contract value
-
How the tendering process works, including bid evaluation and payment terms
-
How contracts are awarded, extended, and the Council’s standard terms and conditions
-
How to register for Council and other East Midlands tenders
-
A Q&A session to answer your questions
The event will also highlight how the Procurement Act 2023 is making it easier for smaller businesses to access public sector contracts by removing unnecessary burdens and costs.
