Swadlincote Jobs Fair - 15 October 2025 Swadlincote Jobs Fair - 15 October 2025

The Department for Work and Pensions working with South Derbyshire District Council and other local partners are holding a Jobs Fair on Wednesday 15 October 2025 between 10am – 12:30pm in the Main Hall at Green Bank Leisure Centre (Civic Way, Swadlincote, DE11 0AD).

The event is free of charge and open to all to drop in and find out what is on offer.

The event will offer training opportunities, access to support agencies, apprenticeships and job vacancies from a range of employers.

Hundreds of full and part time vacancies will be on offer, with roles including administration, education, sales, customer service, hospitality, care, catering, cleaning, production and warehouse operatives.

Employers looking for staff include Derbyshire Constabulary, Healthnet Homecare, Keystone Group, South Derbyshire District Council and Mercia Park.

South Derbyshire Business Advice Service will be providing advice for anyone thinking of becoming self-employed. The Service can also help anyone starting out in business to apply for any grants or loans that they are eligible for.

A free service known as Beyond Barriers South Derbyshire will be on offer. This helps people between the ages of 18 and 64 to gain new skills, build up confidence, make connections in the local community and improve their chances of finding a job.

For those tired of feeling stuck, the six-week Active Futures programme offers support to feel ready for work, with personalised physical activity and support to build skills and confidence.

Last year’s jobs fair in Swadlincote attracted over 300 people looking for work, with excellent feedback from jobseekers and employers alike. Over 80 jobseekers completed a job application on the day or were signed up for training opportunities, 35 jobseekers left the event with an interview offer - and 20 received job offers before leaving.

There is no charge for businesses and organisations wishing to exhibit - contact Amanda Birch at: amanda.birch@dwp.gov.uk for further information.
