Leisure Centres

Green Bank and Etwall Leisure Centres are managed by Everyone Active.

 

On 11 January 2024, South Derbyshire District Council’s Finance and Management Committee approved the appointment of preferred bidder Sports and Leisure Management Ltd (who operate under the name Everyone Active) to take over the management and operation of Green Bank and Etwall Leisure Centres commencing 1 April 2024.

Following a robust procurement process to ensure the council and residents receive value for money and the best possible service provision, the contract was awarded for five years, with a discretionary two-year extension.

Everyone Active, who have over 230 centres nationwide already successfully operate several leisure facilities in neighbouring areas including East Staffordshire, Northwest Leicestershire and Derby.

 

Green Bank Leisure Centre

Green Bank Leisure Centre in Civic Way, Swadlincote (DE11 0AD) has a brilliant range of facilities to help you maintain an active lifestyle.

The facilities include a gym, sports hall, swimming pool, group exercise studio, group cycling studio, café, meeting rooms and a 16-station indoor climbing centre.

The Civic Way site underwent a refurbishment in May/June 2024, with Life Fitness equipment installed.

Etwall Leisure Centre

Etwall Leisure Centre, in Hilton Road (DE65 6HZ),  has a fantastic variety of facilities to help you maintain an active lifestyle.

The facilities include a gym, swimming pool, group fitness studio, 3G artificial football pitch and a six-court sports hall, designed to National Badminton England standards.

Etwall Leisure Centre is a joint venture between South Derbyshire District Council, John Port Spencer Academy, Derbyshire County Council and the local community. It is managed by Everyone Active.
