Swadlincote Proms in the Park

Following the huge success of our inaugural event last year, our second ‘Proms in the Park’ is scheduled for Sunday 18 August 2019.

Younger family members are not forgotten either, Alpine Arty Attic will be offering face painting and craft activities to keep them amused and Abi’s Inflatables will be bringing along crazy golf to try. And don’t forget the play area which is available every day!

This year we will be welcoming two fabulous bands to entertain us:

Force Ten Big Band will take to the bandstand at 2.00pm with a varied and exciting programme featuring classic big band swing, jazz, funk, soul and pop.  Anyone who has heard the band at the Festival of Leisure, knows  the energy and vitality they bring to their music.

At 4.00pm, Nottinghamshire’s Blidworth Ensemble Brass Band will play through until 6.00pm.  Established in the late 19th century as the Stanton Hill Temperance Band, the band’s heritage then turned to the mining industry and upon the industry’s  demise in the 1970’s, a move to Blidworth and a final name change.  An established and extremely successful contesting and concert band, you can be assured of a first class performance including all of the traditional Proms favourites!

And if you fancy a culinary treat to accompany the music, Gorgeous Gourmet Grub will be offering a variety of baked tortilla wrap bowls with an assortment of delicious hot and cold, homely and hearty fillings; Hey Sugar will be on hand with sumptious cakes, strawberries & cream and savoury bites to tempt you; Dalton’s Dairy will be bringing their homemade ice cream and sorbets; and a glass of fizz  will be available from the Hop and Bubble horsebox bar to toast the afternoon away.

The events will be free to attend, but please remember….
