Addendum Consultation: Proposed Modifications to the Local Plan Part 1 Review (Publication Version)

The South Derbyshire Local Plan Part 1 Review 2022-2041 (Publication Version) was published under the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) 2024 transitional arrangements for consultation under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 between the 10^th March and 25^th April 2025.

As a result of representations made during this consultation and further evidence, the Council wishes to make some modifications to the Publication Version of Local Plan. There is no provision in the legislation which allows the Council to replace all or part of the submitted plan with a revised plan during the examination. Therefore, the Council have prepared an addendum consultation to allow stakeholders to comment on the modifications prior to submission to a government-appointed Inspector which will allow the proposed modifications to be considered as part of the submitted plan.

The consultation is seeking views on:

The Consultation will run from Tuesday 5^th May until 5pm Tuesday 16^th June 2026.

Representations at this stage should focus on the grounds of legal compliance and soundness as set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and should only relate to the proposed modifications and the evidence supporting them. The modifications are split into proposed Main Modifications which change the policies of the plan and Additional Modifications which correct typographical changes or add more clarification to the policies supporting text.

Three drop in events are to be held around the District throughout May and June, as listed below. These events are open to the public and you do not need to attend your nearest one.
