Voting in person
We will send you a poll card before an election telling you where and when to vote.
If you haven’t received a poll card but think you should, contact our Elections team.
Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election.
At the polling station
Give your name and address to the staff inside the polling station when you arrive. You don’t have to take your poll card. You'll be given a ballot paper.
Filling in your ballot paper:
- Take your ballot paper into a polling booth.
- Follow the instructions on the notices in the polling booth and on the top of the ballot paper to vote.
- When completed put the ballot paper in the ballot box.
