Residents Survey 2026
The Residents Survey 2026 is your opportunity to provide your views on the way South Derbyshire District Council provides services to you either as a resident, business owner or frequent visitor to the District.
Currently the Council is part of a two-tier local government system in Derbyshire and does not deliver all public services in the District of South Derbyshire.
Don’t forget! The District Council is responsible for services such as:
- Waste collection and recycling
- Street Cleansing including fly tipping
- Council housing and landlord responsibilities
- Parks and green spaces
- Planning and enforcement
- Environmental Health
- Council Tax collection
- Taxi licensing and business licensing
- Managing our own budget and the allocation of resources
- Communication and engagement with residents through different media platforms such as the website and social media
- Development and management of town centres.
We are NOT responsible for:
- Highways (road conditions such as potholes/roadworks)
- Social services - adult social care, children’s services
- Schools
- Public transport
- Policing
- Health and ambulance services
- Fire Services.
